As a child, David Han dreamt of becoming a doctor like his mother who is a pediatrician at Changchun Children's Hospital. Therefore, it was unexpected to most when after high school he changed his mind and entered Jilian Art Academy to study oil painting.
After graduating, David Han received the silver medal at the National Officers and Workers Art Exhibition in Beijing in 1990. This marked the beginning of his fame in China.
His paintings stand out because he captures each of his varying subjects in a unique and bold way.
